How is the non-rachet end fixed to the support, a tree in my case

The non-ratchet end has a loop so the line is wrapped around the tree and the open (non-looped) end is pulled through the loop then fed into the ratchet. Please contact our Customer Service team directly if you need any video reference.

As this is a recommended slackline for beginners, I had a friend recommend the pink surfline as one to begin with because you can shorten it and it’s one that you can grow with more than the beginner classic, so you don’t have to buy a new one a year or two down the line. What are your thoughts?

It is always great to have a longer line than a shorter line to help with progression but the Surfer Line is generally considered more of a trick line with more dynamics and bounce.
